Blue Eyez On The Prize

Quite vividly do I remember the night of November 4th, 2008. Like many Americans, my family and I’s “eyez” were fixed on the TV as we watched a black man become the President-elect of the United States. The excitement I felt that night was unmatched until I saw this President-elect as a President Emeritus in the flesh. On that day, November 2nd, 2018, I stood in Forbes Arena, the stadium of my HBCU Morehouse College, with that same excitement as I waited for him to grace the stage. As I returned to the place of a child, I photographed a fellow black child with her “Blue Eyez On The Prize.”
